Seated Indian Head Massage

  • Position: Seated in a chair.
  • Focus areas:
    • Neck, back, and shoulders
    • Scalp
    • Forehead and temples
    • Face
  • Techniques:
    • Kneading: Gentle pressure along muscles of the neck and shoulders.
    • Circular movements: Fingers work in small circles on the scalp and temples.
    • Stroking and tapping: Promotes blood flow and relaxation.

2. Laid-Down Indian Head Massage

  • Position: Laid on the treatment bed
    • Focus areas:
      • Upper back
      • Neck and shoulders
      • Entire scalp
      • Face
    • Techniques:
      • More extensive pressure and massage movements on shoulders and back
      • Scalp manipulations with fingers or palms

    Key Notes

    • Oils such as sesame, coconut, or herbal blends may be used to nourish the scalp.
    • Sessions usually last 20–60 minutes.
    • The massage is generally safe but should be avoided or modified if the client has recent injuries, fractures, or skin infections in the area.
