Reflexology at Lynne’s Zen Room

Nurture your well-being!
Reflexology is more than a simple foot massage. It is a deeply relaxing experience in which not only physical tension can be released but also emotional unease. It is a non-invasive complementary therapy that encourages the body to balance and heal itself. It involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet which correspond to different organs and systems in the body.
Reflexology uses specific thumb and finger techniques on the feet. These points are called reflexes which reflect a person’s emotional and physical health. During a Reflexology session, the feet are ‘worked’ with specific techniques to break down deposits which build up in the reflex points. These deposits can be a cause of stress in the corresponding parts of the body.
Reflexology helps the body to return to homeostasis and when the body returns to equilibrium it can then function normally giving a sense of over-all wellbeing.

What to expect during a Reflexology treatment:
You’ll relax on a treatment bed, fully clothed apart from socks. The feet are cleansed using a warm cloth. A gentle massage of feet and ankles start the session with a range of relaxation techniques. The specific reflex points are then ‘worked’ on both feet. This treatment is deeply relaxing and many clients drift off to sleep.
Reflexology should never be a replacement for conventional medicine. It does not claim to cure specific ailments. However, it s ideal to bring balance to the body, reduce stress, and enhance circulation
